We provide industry recommended wind turbine medicals for the renewable energy sector, also known as RUK medicals. The RUK medical has been developed because neither the MCA or OGUK medical certification structures were designed to reflect the specific risks that are particular to the renewable energy sector.

Wind and renewable energy workers should undergo and pass a Renewable  UK (RUK) Wind Turbine Medical examination.

The content and criteria of the RUK Wind Turbine Medical has been defined by an RUK work group.

The RUK medical certificate is designed to reflect issues specific to the wind and renewable energy sector, unlike alternative offshore medicals such as the OGUK offshore medical which is designed for the oil and gas sector. The certificate is valid for 2 years

Procedure:

  • Questionnaire and consultation
  • Height, weight, body mass index (BMI)
  • Blood pressure
  • Vision
  • Hearing
  • Lung function
  • Urinalysis
  • Chester step test

You should allow approximately 60 minutes for this medical.

Please bring with you:

  • Detail of any prescribed medications
  • Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport
  • Your glasses or contact lenses
